The car: 2012 Fiesta S, Manual Transmission

The story: The original engine had to be pulled/replaced due to a hydro-lock in deep water.

The replacement engine was secured via the VIN, and appeared to be a great match, guaranteed low miles, etc.
Unfortunately, prior to installation it was not noted that it had come from a car with an A/T.

Anddddd... It won't start. Took a long time and just the right person to recognize why there was no signal from the Crank Position Sensor

The motors with the flex plate A/T and the motors with the flywheel/clutch have a different mount attached to the block, to locate the sensor.
The one which holds the "CKP" (sorry, called that in the service manual) for this engine is marked "AUTO".

VERY unfortunately, the original engine is long gone. (Also very unfortunately, this cast part must be installed from the clutch side of the block, not from the outside)

SO, a part number for the Manual Transmission specific MOUNT for the Crankshaft Position Sensor is needed.

Anyone have that information, or can show me where to get it? ((( OR, have one of those suckers available for me to purchase???)))

I would be visiting the nearest Ford dealership parts department. The housing for that sensor might , very possibly, only be available with that sensor pre installed.
It is a logical conclusion given that many components like water outlets that have a temperature sensor already installed.
So, it might be advantageous to have the parts counterman (person?) Look at exactly what comes with that housing.

Is this it; says it fits your Fiesta? At least you can see the connector to tell if it's the right one? Doesn't specify a stick or auto. EBay CKP 2012 S; RockAuto BE8Z6C315 & S10391.

But getting the right housing for the mount - might mean a trip to the local junkyard.

The "bell housing" for the two types of transmissions isn't different so they changed the insert that houses the sensor for the two (generalized) types of transmissions they can bolt to it.

Trying to widen your horizon's on finding a compatible insert - simply due to distance and proximity to the rotation just to get a signal - but due to the Torque converter / DCS system size compared to the Flywheel of a Manual and all the Clutch plate and accessories - I'm curious to know if the DCS and Manual are similar - don't have one here to find out.

That's the sensor, yes. Replaceable from the outside of the motor. Where it mounts to is a separate piece from the block.
I am looking for the mount that the sensor attaches to/through.

Yep, a visit to the dealership seems to be in order.
The sensor and the mount are discrete parts.. the sensor can be changed from the outside, but the mount attaches from inside.

Yes. Please post an update on what you find! As long as you have the transmission out, if the clutch looks good I would still recommend that you drain the gear oil out and replace it with a fresh fillup after you replace the output shaft seals. The seals are cheap and easy. More importantly, they retain the gear oil that costs many times more than those seals.

Great Find!

I have a PDF of the shop manual, but it is hard to navigate on my laptop, and I wasn't able to find a graphic like this.

The one shown and identified here appears to be from the automatic transmission version. I'll be looking for one specified as part of the manual transmission version.
