GOOD MORNING! peeps from the sunshine state. completely off topic here

just want to say hi and see what everyone's been up to this past summer or how was it , any new shareable experiences?

I'll go 1st while I didn't do much of anything except work, work ,work , nanananana

i did happen to go to my very 1st NASCAR race ( i know got to see people making left turns lol) it was the Coke 400@ Daytona International and it was a good , nice a chill event other than the wrecks and the fact they are going 180+

been to local 1/8 mile drag races back home many years ago nothing crazy just locals on open track day where they use to test the Automeca (mech school) drag race twin turbo 5.0 Foxbody

just like i been to circuit track and got to see an crx turn to chewed bubble gum , after hitting the barrier at 120+ , driver got out walking like it was nothing hard to believe this was over 13 + years ago ,anyways have a good day yall!

Ive hit NASCAR @ Michigan Raceway quite a few times, even been rained out and saw nothing once! Its a great experience and a great track with view of the whole oval. I always sat high at the exit to the pits giving a great view of the front stretch.
Been a summer here for sure north of the border. Lots of work always around the farm. This year has been sunny and hot weeks with many rainy weekends. Hay cut was good thanks to the weather...mowed, rowed and baled in a few days. Gardens are good and grass is still green.
But all my holiday weeks so far have been epic weather.
Got my hoist installed on my 1st week off. Still moving into the garage, outfitting and organizing.

My second week we bolted telephone poles to the barn and are prepping to cut the sub terrain section of vertical structure poles off. Heavy clay here = frost heave issues.
Also finished my sons room and laid a new hardwood floor.

I have also taken time in the hammock, on the patio and by the BBQ. Took my son to watch a Time Attack/AutoX day in Bowmanville, Ontario.

My friends Civic regrettably threw a cyl #4 rod taking out the block, oil pan, trans bellhousing and bent valves. His morning session was so spicy he finished 3rd in his class at the end of the day!
Not much automotive fun happening for me, just regular maintenance really.
Summer is not over so...Im off next week again. Backhoe time, I plan to re profile the ditches on about 600' of driveway and add a layer of gravel. Finish bolting & cribbing the barn. Of course more work on the garage. I have 6x 4' LED lights to install and a storage mezzanine to build. Getting ready to put the Mazdaspeed6 under the knife for a couple years to rebuild and upgrade.
In a couple more weeks I head to Mexico for a week. Im making the most of my summer..."no one is interested in something you didnt do"
Cheers!

Wow someones been busy for sure that is awesome tho ,absolutely love the car hoist and the fact that you have a barn ,that is soo cool ,I have always said if I hit the lottery screw this back if the woods town or city I would buy a dam barn with plenty acres and learn to care for animals and live off the land ,I love fresh eggs , barely processed milk and who doesn't enjoy grass fed beef and chickens raised cage free and happy ,just like veggies from one's own back yard , growing up my grandparents on both sides always had a lil piece of land or garden and grew something, and always said doesn't matter how much or how little if you learn to harvest food you will never go hungry ,even if you can only yield fruit or veggies if you can both thats great! ,learn to work with what you have . Sucks for your friend tho but the good things Honda parts are not hard to find and maybe now he can build a solid 2.4/2.0k series those things are sweet .Years ago I had a 05 Mazda 6 v6 5 speed for months, I was supposed to keep it but the person back down last min and trade it in out broken cv axle and some other things that I was gonna fix myself, I was pretty upset after it got a brand new clutch kit and flywheel at the time special order directly from Ford, but I guess it wasn't meant for me..and she ended up reinversing me the money for that so it was all good.

And you are right summer isn't completely over maybe I can find some time to hit a theme park with the grand kids ..
