Maps via Bluetooth silence

Hi. I have the mk7 Fiesta Red Edition which lets me sync my phone to the car via bluetooth.
If I use google maps on my phone while sync'd, it refuses to talk to me, despite the settings in the maps being set to talk through bluetooth.
Any ideas? If it matters, I have a Samsung S6.

Do you have the Sony system?

I have to admit that I have no idea! It's the built-in DAB Ford sync system.
Everything else works fine (make and receive calls and listen to text messages) it's just the google maps voice directions that won't come through the car speakers

That's a Non-Sony sound system that may not support Google Map integration.

Yeah only systems with MyFordTouch or Sync 3 will allow you to fully integrate smart phone features. The older system mainly use Bluetooth for phone and music.
