Anyone have any recent experience replacing the spring that centres left to right the manual selector?

Also, sources where I can just buy the spring.

I cannot imagine that Ford will service the individual parts of the shifter assembly. It might be best to find another shifter and just replace the original one.

Thinking about this. Is the spring broken or gone entirely? If it’s gone, that means that the material that retains it may be worn down or broken off. So, a new shifter mechanism is in your future. If it’s just a broken spring, then you will probably have to go to a hardware store and purchase several springs of the same dimension and then swap in and out until you get a similar amount lever feel. That’s my best guess.
