Instrument cluster dimmer switch doesn't do anything

Got a brand new 2019, but the instrument lights seem to be stuck on what I assume is max brightness. The dimmer button doesn't seem to do anything.It's lit up, but doesn't actually adjust up or down when I press it.

Any one have a thought on this?

I figured it out. You can't adjust the brightness of the cluster while the headlights are off. So when you start it at night you just have to get blinded by everything until you flip the beams on it seems. Only the brightness while the headlights are on can be tweaked.
