Ive replaced this part twice now and thia will be number 3 if I do it. What fiction does it actually serve and do I need it? I unplugged it cause its driving me 🍌🍌

Depends on your level of tolerance. I am not happy that i am on my second one either. Is any correction to the design being made? I will say the original one lasted 3.5 years. But, i don't drive my FiST in winter and i leave the mode in defog/floor. Only ever adjust temp and fan speed.
It's baseline function is mixing fresh and heated air.
