Ford Fiesta 2004 Wont drive in 1st gear

Hi there

I am having a problem with my ford fiesta 2004 , 1.4. Sometimes when I stop at a robot or stop sign my car wont drive in 1st gear. I can feel the stick going in the 1st gear but the car sometimes wont drive if I need to take off. Sometimes it drives in the first gear and sometimes it doesnt. Most of the time when it does not move I just switch of the engine without touching the gears, then when I restart the car then moves. Please help.

Have you had your clutch inspected?

Hi Mike

The clutch seems to be okay. The gear stick goes into all gears without any hassles. There is no or a limited play when the gear stick is in neutral when moving it sideways.
