Fiesta Gear link cable removal

Hi All Ford Enthusiasts

I have a 2012 ford fiesta 1.4

I want to remove the gear cable links assembly.

But under the dash i just cant seem to get it out, after removing the 2 nuts at the bottom above the exhaust heat shield.

There is NO space to get that bracket/rubber out from underneath the interior hvac system. The bolts are so long and ya i have tried.


Any diagrams or methods would be appreciative.

The problem is No:7 on the diagram. The HVAC box is so low on the floor i cannot remove number 7.

I tried to remove the bottom part of the hvac box but it has this alu heater core that will not allow the cover to be removed.
I can only see removing these cables by removing the whole dash and hvac so i have some space.

It gets wedge up on the hvac cover because of the studs where the bolts fastened is just that extra height that i do not need.

Thanks i got it out. I used a pry bar and just lifted the the heater core hvac box more than enough to remove the cable assembly.
