Good afternoon, everyone,

what I'm going to mention here is very strange but it's actually what's going on. I have a 2009 Fiesta mk7 and during the spring and summer the car runs smoothly. As soon as the first rains/humidity or lower temperatures begin to appear, I notice that the car chokes on start-up, in first or second gear, and that after a few seconds everything passes and it drives normally. If I switch the car off and on again, it usually doesn't happen any more, but once or twice it has happened again.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem? I've read about the MAF, temperature sensor, detonation sensor... but I really have no idea what could be causing this.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Many thanks to everyone

There's a lot on here - it might help if you do a search to help you find what you need by using key phrases.
Just look for and use the SEARCH tool on the menu bar on this site to help you.

To add more to this, the engine as it warms up - needs time to settle down and stabilize. On the newer engines with less miles this was not so bad it added the right level of fuel and nary a problem with driving right away after start.

IT still thinks it can do that even after years of neglect - so to start having this problem after this many years, not too bad, just do up a method to clean the throttle body bore, check all your hoses and even the air filter for dirt - change the oil to a thinner viscosity (new oil is thinner than older dirty oil) as you get it prepped for winter - might want to clean the MAF and MAP sensor as you can - have a mechanic help you find these sensors - and clean them off with a sensor safe spray cleaner to remove older dirt and oil from the sensors reinstall and connect and see it this helps.

Not sure of what engine you may have to help you find some of these sensors.
