Hi everyone,

I’m still struggling with an issue on my driver-side window in my 2012 Ford Fiesta Zetec S (Mk7, 2-door) and hoping someone might have some insight.

The window does not go up or down properly—it only moves intermittently in both directions. When I press the switch, the window moves slightly, then stops, and I have to keep pressing the switch repeatedly to get it to move again. It never moves in one smooth motion, whether going up or down. I’ve attached a video showing the issue.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:
• Replaced the window switch – The issue remains exactly the same with the replacement switch.
• Tried the reset procedure (holding the switch down for 10 seconds, then up for 10 seconds) – Works fine for the passenger window, but does not fix the driver-side window.
• Taken it to a garage – They ruled out the motor and regulator, saying that if they were faulty, the window would be making an obvious sound or struggling, which isn’t happening.

At this point, I’m not sure what else could be causing this. Could it be a wiring issue, a faulty control module, or something else electrical?

Has anyone else had this problem before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Ruled out motor and regulator? Well, I can understand the regulator - but the motor - if it's not getting full current or power - you can get intermittent results because the motors wiring might be the problem.

Speaking of wiring - did they try to open and position the door in different angles of open to verify the wiring in the snorkel - the wires that come from the firewall into the door then to the armrest where those switches are?

The wires may be starting to break down their conductors - they are stranded but don't last forever - especially if they have been worked on.
