Bit of helpful advice needed please

Hi Guys,
Have a predicament regarding a 2004 Fiesta. It’s my neighbours car, and has a crumpled front door and front wing courtesy of my wife not looking where she was going. I’ve bought the door and wing from a breakers and am getting my mate to fit and paint them. The door when it arrived looked fantastic and thought nothing more of it, but the painter told me the door I got was with an electric window, whereas her car has manual windows. Just wondering whether there are issues in fitting a manual window mechanism to a door that’s had electric? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The components of the manual crank window should be less complicated to swap in than doing the reverse (manual to power ) would be. Simply because you won't need to route the wiring harness. I have only had power windows in my Fiestas so far. But I have done a lot of work on Escorts regarding the window mechanism. A moderately experienced person should be able to make the swap.

Thanks for that scotman, it was easy enough. But now have issue with the door locks, are they interchangeable or are they handed? I have yet to have a go at them myself as the painter put everything back together without trying to sort it.

Hi. I would have to guess that a power window Fiesta would also have power locks as they're usually offered in a package. So, you will probably have to swap out the door latch and control rods or cables. Just be extra careful with the plastic guides for the lock control rods! Those little guide clips hold the rods in position to provide the leverage to move the lock mechanism and door latch.
