America and Canada got a different version of the instrument panels that are in the European and Pacific rim versions. I believe that there is a Chinese market version as well. That system may fit yours. But you need to really study the details of your instrument panel layout, especially where the Hvac and seat heater buttons are located on the new radio face compared to what you have. Good luck!

Ok! I remember you now! If you find a drop in Android radio, Bluetooth, mp3, that is also reverse camera enabled post about here. I think that there are MANY Fiesta owners who want to do an upgrade.

Sorry, but that picture you posted at the top looks like someone badly fiberglassed a kiosk screen into the dashboard. I think Yugos had better looking plastic.

I don't even want that in the Car if I'm ever stuck in a ditch - first thing the Rescue will see is that monstrosity on the dash and I get keel-hauled thru the process of proving I wasn't driving distracted or unable see to the those bicyclists that wore the T-Shirt that says - MADD - Maniacs Against Distracted Driving

thanks for the answers, but I want to know if there's a way to change the screen only, keeping the same buttons and the steering controls as is now, only having an android screen

No. You would need to find an Android system that is designed to fit into the available space in the instrument panel.
Which is what many people who have the 2011 to 13 Fiesta would like to get. Myself included. If it had a reverse camera capability it would cause the money to fly out of my wallet.
Even more to the point. Android is an operating system. It's not an application that can be loaded into a hard drive.

By the vids you been providing links to, thank you - but they all show some form of a "Verizon <TM>" OR Apple <TM> phone or Surface <TM> Tablet with touch screen, but all look like Adaptations from Wal-Marts' Flat Panel TV displays that kids can put together (Parents - be sure to supervise) in one night to play FORTNITE within minutes.

The essence here of the difference between those flat panel displays and the comforts of driving - is not having to worry about having to use a spell-checker.. you press buttons to change the station. Only now, it's mixed in with SYNC and having to fight that mess just to obtain a MENU function - only when driving and while its trying remind you that you can not do that while you are driving , your safety is important...

So maybe the Center Console isn't the best option - how about hiring a passenger/Secretary to handle the phone calls and Emails?

It's just having a screen about the size of a Samsung Tablet glued to a frame mounted on your dash - would get a lot of people into a rough spot when it comes to clear vision and paying attention to the road.

I guess I'm the Odd man out in this...

got your point Mr Handyman... but I can tell that the android units for car audio have a restriction like the sync units that prevent you use certain functions like using email while the car is moving

I really dont have an issue with the larger size screen. The software limits accessibility when in motion. But, a larger screen would be nice for the reverse camera. The "must have" features for me are the open source Android, Bluetooth, streaming audio and the reverse camera. A wi-fi hotspot for web and email would just be the cherry on top.

I guess I don't get it... reverse cameras are fun and all but out of all the cars I've driven with them, I still think they are a novelty. Most useful when trying to back right up to something without hitting. In the Fiesta I still just do the old fashioned thing and use the mirrors and look behind me. I guess they are nice for people who a spatially challenged? I don't know. Cars today seem to be like driving around using Windows with all of the accessibility features turned on at once, very annoying.

I knew the '18 STs would have the cameras, but I didn't want one. Just one more thing to go wrong, and it's easy to see out of. Seemed unneeded.

Try accessing the "MENU" to turn off Skid control when driving - you can't - you have to come to a stop first before SYNC would let you even change that - so be ready...because - the part about being in the ditch is why I use a Manual versus the Marshmallow-matics Autos have become these days.

I too, agree with you both, it is unfortunate that many others whom did not heed the Trainers advice, whether it'd be parents, or Drivers ED. - when it came to looking around you - which common sense would/SHOULD rule the day - too many of these same ones got sued and lost because they are not responsible for the injuries and run-ed- over'd personnel - but they are responsible for the vehicle that did the damage.

  • So to me, I just pay more closer attention to what is around me, because even having and using the Rear camera is not the catch all for objects in rear view that are not part of your vehicle. We as drivers, are still responsible for the vehicle - even though the people around are not paying attention to their children or where they are going.
  • I'm saying this - in this way - so that those whom know, DO take their time and look - we just get lumped into the VENN diagram of others that didn't.
  • So to protect those from themselves as well as from hurting others - Automakers got forced into this upgrade - which adds to the cost as well as complexity of issues that are BEYOND our own control.
  • I guess it just makes me more picky about the Privileges' I still have and wish to keep. We lose more of these every time some one gets hurt.

Not trying to be preachy, It hurts me too! We have lost one common law rule about proximity to others and their actions - and how you shouldn't be held responsible for others expressing their innate character of wanting to go their way and winding up getting hurt, but too many people got lucky in their lawsuits even when the evidence was not going their way.

Somewhere, the "translation of"; "Natures Way of Thinning the Herd" .- it got lost.

Yes. With the ST, it was a price point issue. The performance parts, which include engine, drivetrain, suspension, bodywork, wheels and brakes, make it an enthusiast's car. It costs more to make.
The ST got the titanium trim in all black and gray, but without the backup camera until it was mandated in '18.
