air conditioning ticking

Hi my 2008 ford fiesta 1.6 titanium that I recently bought has just occasionally started to make a ticking sound not sure what it is dose any one have any ideas what It could be I notices that one of the vents has snapped could something have dropped in the vent and causing the ticking sound it sounds like it maybe coming from the driver side foot well near the air conditioning control any ideas thanks
