So you know, ANY motor that had bad timing or jumped time - are subject to be called interference due to Head-to-Valve-to-Piston clearance no matter what people may tell you.
Why? Simply due to the wear conditions and the erratic valve action usually stop the engine from running, but if the motor is still turning due to transmission engagement - the lack of control can force the motor that have such a thrown timing to lose oil pressure too. This affects any lifters or rollers in the heads too. That's due to the belt/chain no longer engaged.
(...I know I'll probably catch Hades for this but it does need to be said...)
Didn't know if you folks knew of the recall on the Ecoboost motors that use wet-belt oil-sump - Ford claims they can fail and cause engine damage from the valves in the cylinder head breaking in the combustion chamber.

Another which helps boost the issue around those valves...

Come to think of it - because the new oil formulations can cause the belt to be slowly digested from the oil additives used to keep the motor cleaner are also attacking the belt. This may be a bigger problem for other engines using wet-belt designs.
