IF you've got nothing to lose, try them.

@scotman had older Ford Tempo rims - tried them but they needed some machining due to the depth of the wheel and studs - they seem to be made for a "flatter" wheel - so the stud and rim hole although sized to spacing - their depth didn't - too short.

How so? Would trying them on possibly trash the car or something? Sorry im a tad confused. I did check out that thead, very creative :)

I would go with Ford Focus wheels for a daily use Fiesta. The Tempo wheels are a perfect fit on the rear. The fronts have some slight interference with the brake calipers. I also found that the aluminum 14 inch wheels from the sport package Tempo really need longer wheel studs. They can be made to fit. But they are not safe without some work. The factory focus wheels are a dumb simple,no fuss swap.

What size rim on the Focus are you referring to? I've been to the wreckers looking for winter rims/tires and so far on Focus's they have been either 16" or 14"

Sorry if this is a cross-post question. I didn't see it in this thread and it seems like it belongs:

What are acceptable donor cars for compatible tires? No fuss swaps.

The Fiesta uses 4 X 108mm (4.25" or 4-1/4") spacing with preferred offset of 42mm with a knockout hole of about 62mm.

The EARLIER rim types for the Fiesta were 5.5" width and had at least a 40mm offset - referring to the Fiestas of 1990's vintage - which Tempo seemed to supplant.

The current minimum rim diameter they want us to use is 15" with a Width of 6". I currently have 15" x 6W X 4 X 108mm using winter tires.

15 or 16 inch 2001 to 2011 focus wheels are a direct swap. 17 inch wheels are also doable, but the tires for 17’s will be pretty expensive and you won’t find them to be very “sporty feeling “ in normal use and when one of them gets bitten by a pothole you will not like the additional cost of living with them.
That’s been my experience.

When you ask about "donor cars" the earlier models like the Contour and Focus of pre-2011 vintage are the ones that still used the 4 x 108 spacing.

Ford was the "odd-man out" when it came to using 4-bolt rims - their spacing - else most others; at least in the Foreign lines - like Toyota, used that 4 X 100mm spacing. Ford even used those sizes for the Festiva and Aspire - which were their "Import" models from places like KIA...

The width though - makes a change in the appearance and handling - so try to keep it above 5" in width or greater to keep the thing from getting bucked by cross winds that will make it feel like sway when the rubber sidewall is simply bending on the rim.

Thank you to Scotman and Handy Andy for the information. You helped me to choose a non-steel rim for my winter tires. I've attached these photos in case anyone might want to do the same thing. These rims are off of a 2010 Focus. IMG_7052.jpg IMG_7053.jpg

There ya go!

Looks good! Don't know why they didn't keep these around for the Fiestas' they do "upgrade" the look!

Miles of Smiles!
